Bursary Program

Do your children or grandchildren need an extra $1,500 for tuition?
They could WIN a bursary from OTIP.

If you’re insured with OTIP and you have a child or grandchild (under the age of 30) who will be a full-time post-secondary student at a Canadian college or university for the upcoming academic year, the OTIP Bursary Program is for you! Applications are now being accepted for the 2010-2011 school year.

How to Participate

1. Confirm Your Eligibility

To be eligible to win, you must meet the following criteria at the time of the selection:

  • Your parent, grandparent or legal guardian must be insured through an individual or group policy of an insurance plan or program provided by OTIP
  • You must be a full-time post-secondary student at a Canadian college or university for the upcoming academic year
  • You must be under 30 years of age

2. Apply Online

  • Applications must be received before midnight on June 15, 2010.

3. Understand the Bursary Program Regulations

  • 12 bursaries of $1,500 each are available to be won.
  • Only one application per person will be accepted.
  • Applicants are only eligible to receive an OTIP Bursary once.
  • Six male and six female applicants will be randomly drawn by June 30, 2010, from all eligible applications received.
  • The selected applicants will be contacted by telephone and will be required to submit proof of age and proof of attendance at a Canadian college or university on a full-time basis for the upcoming academic year.
  • The selected applicants will be asked an arithmetic skill-testing question, which must be answered correctly.
  • Should any of the initially selected applicants either not provide proof of age, or proof of attendance, not correctly answer the skill-testing question, or have previously received an OTIP Bursary, they will be deemed ineligible. Should this occur, another randomly selected applicant will be chosen. This process will continue until a winner is declared.
  • Only the selected applicants will be notified by OTIP.
  • Awards will be made by cheque in Canadian funds payable to the winner.
  • A list of the bursary winners will be posted at www.otip.com by July 31, 2010.
  • The odds of winning are dependent on the number of eligible applications received by the closing date.
  • It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to notify the bursary program coordinator in writing if the applicant changes his or her mailing address, telephone number and/or e-mail address, if the applicant still wishes to be included in the number of eligible applications.
  • Applications are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible or incomplete.
  • By entering this bursary program, the winner consents to the use of their name and address (city and province only) in any related publicity without further compensation.
  • OTIP is not responsible for any applications that are lost, late, damaged, destroyed, misdirected or delayed by any computer or technical malfunctions that may occur in the processing, transmission or receipt of applications.
  • OTIP shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the bursary program.
  • By participating in OTIP’s bursary program, all applicants agree to be bound by these rules and regulations and declare that the information they provide to support their application is true and correct.
  • Children, grandchildren or dependants of OTIP employees or any of its subsidiaries are not eligible to apply.
