Make your mental health a priority. FeelingBetterNow can help.

At OTIP, we understand that the recent changes in Ontario’s education system have had a challenging impact on many members of the education community.

The Canadian Mental Health Association reports that 20% of Canadian workers experience a stress related illness every year. Educators can be particularly vulnerable due to the unique nature of their working conditions.

Eligible OTIP members have access to FeelingBetterNow® (FBN), a mental health management program that is available 24/7. FBN helps you confidentially identify mental health issues early and take immediate action, allowing you to stay healthy and productive at work.

With the elective focus on early identification and action on mental health in the workplace you will get the right care at the right time. FBN will provide an immediate collaborative action plan for the identified problem and risk level. The action plan will integrate all domains of care: Self-Help, Psychosocial and Medical.

Every person is different and manages issues in their own way. Your FBN plan is no exception as each action plan is personalized to your individual needs. FBN will work with the methods that work best for you and your problem.

With one in five Canadians suffering a mental disorder in their lifetime, we encourage members to utilize this resource and contact FBN if you are experiencing any of the following:

Depression
Bipolar Disorder
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Social Anxiety
Panic Disorder Obsessive-Compulsive disorder
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Alcohol/Substance Abuse
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Eating Disorders
Anger Problems
Adjustment Disorder
Sleep Problems

If you are an OTIP member, you may be eligible to access FBN. To learn more about your eligibility and how FBN can help you, please contact OTIP at 1‑866‑783‑6847 or your local union representative.
