What you need to know about two-step verification

At OTIP, we are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your
personal information. That’s why we’ve added an extra layer of security to your plan member login using a two-step verification process.

Two-step verification will be implemented on the OTIP plan member site gradually between July and December 2022. As a member of a group
health and dental plan, you will be prompted to start completing the
two-step verification process in order to access your plan member
account each time you log in.

What is two-step verification?

Two-step verification helps to keep your account secure and protect you
from unauthorized access by verifying your identify. It’s one of the best ways to help keep your online account secure.

How does two-step verification work?

Similar to resetting your password, a verification code will be sent to your preferred email address or mobile phone every time you log in. You will be prompted to input your code within 10 minutes to complete your login.

What you need to do

Some time between July and December 2022, you will be prompted to provide two-step verification to complete your log in to your OTIP plan member account.

If you have not previously provided your email (mandatory) and mobile phone number (optional) in your security settings, you will be asked to do so in order to set up two-step verification.

If your email address (mandatory) and mobile phone number (optional) have already been provided, you will be asked to confirm which contact method you would like to receive your verification code sent to each time you log in.
