Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives - Rules and Regulations

Five (5) prizes of $5,000 CAN and five (5) prizes of $1,000 CAN are available to be won.

Only one entry per person will be accepted.

The deadline to enter is April 30, 2023.

Entrants are only eligible to receive a sponsorship once.

The contest is open to all OTIP members.

Entries will only be accepted online.

Entries must be made via a short video, no longer than two minutes.

By submitting an entry, you represent and warrant that your entry

  • Is original;

  • Does not contain content that is in violation of or infringes any intellectual property rights of any third party;

  • Has not been published or distributed previously in any media (including, without limitation, on the Internet);

  • Will not be submitted in the future as an entry in other contests without prior written consent from OTIP.

The winners will be contacted by telephone and will be subject to verification by OTIP.

Should any of the winners not meet the eligibility requirements, another winner will be chosen. This process will continue until five (5) winners are declared.

All entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if illegible, incomplete, mechanically reproduced, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

Only the winners will be notified by OTIP.

Awards will be made by cheque in Canadian funds payable to the school of the winner.

A list of the Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives winners will be posted at in June.

The odds of winning are dependent on the number of eligible entries received by the closing date.

It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify OTIP if the entrant changes his or her telephone number and/or email address, if the entrant still wishes to be included in the number of eligible entries.

By entering the Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives contest, the winner consents to the use of their name and the name of their school in any related publicity without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, in any publicity or advertising carried out by OTIP, unless prohibited by law.

By submitting the video, you give OTIP the absolute right and permission to use this video, still photographs of such video, and voice recordings for the purposes of, but not limited to, print publication, World Wide Web, social media, publicity or other form of promotion and you confirm that you have obtained consent of all parties portrayed in the video and hereby release OTIP and its authorized representatives from any liability resulting from the publication of this video.

OTIP is not responsible for any entries that are lost, late, damaged, destroyed, misdirected or delayed by any computer or technical malfunctions that may occur in the processing, transmission or receipt of entries.

OTIP shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the projects and initiatives sponsorship.

By participating in the Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives, all entrants agree to be bound by these rules and regulations and declare that the information they provide to support their entry is true and correct.

The winner selection process will be determined by OTIP. OTIP reserves the right to modify or change the selection process at any time.

All decisions of the sponsorship committee are final and binding on the entrants in all matters relating to the Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives, the eligibility requirements and the sponsorship program's selection process.

OTIP reserves the right to administer the Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives as required, including the right to withdraw, terminate, suspend, cancel or modify all or part of the Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives including the eligibility requirements at any time and without notice.  

The Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and is governed by Canadian laws and the laws of the Province of Ontario.
