Here is some information about this plan:
Whether or not you obtain a long-term occasional (LTO) position/contract for September, you still need to enrol in the OECTA Occasional Teachers (OT) Benefits Plan. This will ensure that you have coverage after your LTO position/contract ends.

This plan is administered by OTIP.
Who is eligible
Eligibility for the OECTA OT Benefits Plan is determined by your school board.
If you are eligible, you will receive an email invitation from OTIP in August/September.
How to participate
To have coverage under the plan, you must complete the following:
You cannot make changes to your coverage after the enrolment period even with a life event (e.g. marriage, common-law, divorce, birth of a child, adoption).
If you are required to provide proof of good health (evidence of insurability):
Once you complete your enrolment:
Obtaining an LTO at the start or during the school year
If you obtain an eligible LTO position/contract, you will receive an email to enrol for coverage under the OECTA Employee Life and Health Trust (ELHT) Benefits Plan.
All fields are mandatory.
