March break activities: Something for everyone!

March Break provides the perfect opportunity to spend time with family and friends. But what do you do when those around you have different ideas for how they want to spend this week-long vacation? We’ve got you covered with this comprehensive activity guide for different interests and lifestyles.

Jump into action

  • Immerse yourself in nature by going camping or hiking at one of Ontario’s many incredible provincial parks.
  • Check your local recreational complex’s schedule for free skating and swimming sessions.
  • Challenge yourself in extraordinary ways: how about going to a rock-climbing gym, indoor trampoline park or Ninja Warrior training gym?
  • Take advantage of days when skies are clear to ride a bike, fly a kite or toss a Frisbee.

Spark some creativity

  • Get crafty! Pick up art supplies from your local crafts store or use what you already have on hand to create these spring crafts.

  • Any aspiring filmmakers in the family? Shoot a funny video, show off your skills in a tutorial, choreograph a dance routine or even film a short movie.

  • Pull together photos from a recent vacation into a physical or digital scrapbook so you can treasure those memories for years to come.

  • Make cookies, cupcakes or other treats that little ones can easily help bake and decorate.

Find relaxation

  • Cozy up on the couch with blankets and snacks for a movie (or two).

  • Take some time to reflect with these interesting journal prompts.

  • Create a new music playlist or seek out an album you haven’t listened to in a while.

  • Calm your mind and body with a yoga session (in person or online). Kids can join in too!

  • Crack open the book that’s been collecting dust on your shelf for too long.

Use your head

  • Enter an escape room to take your problem-solving and clue-finding skills to the next level.

  • Spend the day at a science centre, museum or art gallery near you.

  • Pull out your favourite board or card games to play with friends and family – or learn how to play a new one.

  • Enrol your kids in educational, activity-based March Break day camps where they’ll acquire new skills and knowledge.

From all of us at OTIP, have a fun and safe March Break.
