Celebrating World Teachers’ Day: Sharing the positive impact

October 03, 2018

Teachers not only educate the leaders of tomorrow, they inspire our youth to be the best they can be. On World Teachers’ Day, OTIP is sharing the positive impact teachers have had on our lives and the lives of our loved ones.

This year’s theme Teachers are the heartbeat of public education resonates strongly with OTIP. Teachers are an integral part of the OTIP community and we deeply respect and value the work they do.

To display our gratitude, our offices have created gratitude walls. Throughout the week, we are encouraging staff to share their personal stories of a teacher who has made a positive impact on their life or the life of a loved one.

World Teachers' Day, marked every year on October 5, was proclaimed in 1994 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to recognize the important contribution of teachers to society.
