Understanding specialty medications

Specialty medications are prescribed to treat chronic, complex and/or rare conditions. They may also:

  • Require special handling or shipping, such as refrigeration.
  • Need additional insurance approvals.
  • Have a specific way of being taken or used, such as injection.
  • Cost more than regular medications.
  • Require close patient monitoring and ongoing support.

While taking a specialty medication may seem complicated, it doesn’t have to be.

Working with you, MemberRx ensures you get the right specialty medications delivered to you on time and free of charge.
