OTIP awards more than 55 bursaries to Ontario students pursuing post-secondary education

The 2024–25 school year marked a special milestone for OTIP — 30 years of the OTIP Bursary Program.

To celebrate this anniversary, we expanded the program — increasing the number of bursaries from 20 to 30, each valued at $1,500 — helping even more students across Ontario pursue post-secondary education in college, university, skilled trades, or technology programs. Whether beginning their first year or advancing into graduate studies, recipients represent a diverse range of educational paths and ambitions.

“I am sincerely grateful to have been selected to receive the OTIP Bursary,” shared one student recipient. “This generous award will help support my studies in university and my future academic and professional endeavours. OTIP’s Bursary Program helps students like me manage the financial burden of post-secondary education. Thank you again for your kindness and support!”

In addition to expanding the core bursary program, we proudly deepened our support of Indspire through its Building Brighter Futures initiative. OTIP funded bursaries for 14 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students — with government matching dollars doubling the impact to reach 28 students in total. This strengthened partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to educational equity and our belief in the transformative power of learning for all students.

Over the past three decades, the OTIP Bursary Program has helped hundreds of students pursue post-secondary studies. Looking ahead to the 2025-26 school year, we’re proud to continue offering both our core OTIP Bursary Program and the OTIP Bursary for Indigenous Students.
