OTIP celebrates inaugural Principal and Vice-Principal Award recipients
OTIP is proud to celebrate Janice Lewis, recipient of the inaugural OTIP Principal Award, and Drew Boyce, recipient of the inaugural OTIP Vice-Principal Award.
Launched in 2026 in partnership with the Ontario Principals’ Council (OPC), the awards recognize exceptional school leaders in Ontario’s publicly funded education system who demonstrate care for their communities and a strong commitment to student and staff well-being.
Recognizing the impact of school leadership
Principals and vice-principals help shape the culture of their schools, bringing together students, educators, staff, families and community partners to create environments where people feel supported, included and able to thrive.
Janice and Drew reflect the thoughtful, people-centered leadership these awards were created to celebrate.

Celebrating Ontario’s education community
The OTIP Principal and Vice-Principal Awards build on OTIP’s long-standing commitment to recognizing people who make a meaningful difference across Ontario’s education community.
They join OTIP’s broader recognition programs, including the OTIP Teaching Awards, OTIP Education Worker Awards and Prix de bienveillance à l’école du RAEO.
Together, these programs recognize the many people and roles that contribute to strong, caring and inclusive school communities across Ontario.
Congratulations to Janice Lewis and Drew Boyce on this well-deserved recognition.
