Retired Teachers Insurance Plan (RTIP) offers the most flexible health, dental and travel insurance to all members of the retired education community including educators, administrative and support staff.
RTIP offers the most flexible health, dental and travel insurance for the retired Ontario education community. We provide three drug coverage maximums and Single, Couple, and Family plan options to fit your needs.

If you and your spouse have different prescription drug needs, you may be able to save money by purchasing two Single plans with different maximums. Call us at 1-844-856-7139 if you have questions.
If not, you can add dental coverage to your plan any time in the future without penalty.
Both our Gold 2500 and Plus 4000 plans include semi-private hospital coverage.
Children under the age of 21 (31 if in school) are eligible for dependant coverage. Any two family members qualify for Couple coverage. If you do not have an eligible spouse, you and your dependent child can qualify for Couple rates.

* You may increase only one level at a time and decrease two levels at a time. Once you decrease your health coverage, you must wait two years before you are able to increase your coverage again.

Have a dependant? Members’ unmarried, unemployed children under the age of 21 (under 31 if attending school full-time) are eligible for dependant coverage under an RTIP plan. There is no age limit for unmarried, dependant children who are incapable of self-sustaining support due to mental or physical disability that occurred prior to age 21. Keep in mind that any two family members can qualify for couple coverage. Cancelling your plan If you decide to cancel your coverage after 12 months, you must wait 24 months before you can apply for RTIP coverage again.
