Our education community relies on a diverse team of individuals. Every person on that team plays a key part in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for learning. The OTIP Support Staff Worker Awards seek to recognize and acknowledge the important part that educational support staff workers contribute to the education community and to student success. Nominees will be accepted in two categories for the 2022-2023 school year:
Applications will be accepted until May 26, 2023, with the winners announced in September. Winners will be recognized for their outstanding contribution to the education community and will be presented a personal award of $1,000 and a Certificate of Recognition. Selected winners (and their nominators) will be required to sign a publicity release and participate in a video.
Who can make a nomination
Anyone can make a nomination. A current or former student, parent, teacher, co-worker, administrator, or member of the community may wish to recognize outstanding efforts by nominating a support staff worker. NOTE: Self-nominations or nominations of family members will not be accepted.
Who can be nominated
Nominations are open to all support staff workers who are insured by OTIP or are a member of an employee benefits plan that is administered by OTIP, and work in one of Ontario's public, Catholic or francophone school boards.
Multiple nominations will be considered as one nomination. The earliest received nomination will be used for consideration. Other supporting materials such as reference/supporting letters, videos, etc. are encouraged and acceptable as part of the nomination.
Refer to full rules and regulations.
