Curo Claims celebrates its 10th anniversary this month as an important division of the OTIP Group of Companies. Curo is the licensed and registered, independent adjusting company providing claims services for customers of OTIP/RAEO Insurance Brokers Inc. and TW Insurance Brokers in Ontario and Alberta.
In 1996, OTIP created the Property and Casualty Claims department. In 2009, the team wanted to expand its claims services outside of the Ontario education community. To that end, the team re-branded to become Curo Claims Services. Curo is a Latin word meaning to administrate and take care; perfectly fitting for a team that prides itself on helping members throughout the entire claims process.
The Curo team supports property, casualty and automobile claims. For example, when a member is in an accident, the Curo team will be there to help facilitate next steps from calling a tow truck, coordinating repairs, to working with a rehabilitation specialist in setting up physical therapy for members. When required, the Curo team will also be there to guide a member through mediation with the other insurance company and to advocate for member in the event a claim goes to trial.
This ability to go the extra mile, among its many other services, is what separates the Curo Claims Services team from other insurance claims departments in the industry.
