OTIP donates $15,000 to Indigenous youth resources

June 21, 2021 – On National Indigenous Peoples Day, OTIP is honoured to offer $15,000 to Indspire for their Indigenous education programs and services.

At OTIP,  we know we can never undo the irreparable harm that has been caused to all Indigenous people across Canada, but as an organization we are committed to standing with them in solidarity, and to be an ally in championing real and powerful change for future generations.

Indspire is an Indigenous national charity that invests in education programs for students and educators of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people for the long-term benefit of these individuals, their families, and communities.  Their education resources serve educators and students in remote communities, rural areas, and urban centres across Canada.

“Ensuring our youth have access to the resources and support they need has never been more important,” said Vic Medland, OTIP CEO. “We value the work that this incredible organization is doing to make a difference in the lives of young Indigenous people.”

Land acknowledgment

OTIP is situated on traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Neutral People. We acknowledge the enduring presence of the Indigenous people with whom we share this land today, their achievements and their contributions to our community. We offer this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation between Indigenous and non- Indigenous peoples of Canada.
