Job Description


What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies that grow the organization’s individual OTIP & Orbit lines of business. With a dedicated focus on Marketing Operations, this Manager will optimize the marketing organization’s time-to-market, develop efficient processes and collaborate closely with the Manager, Marketing Planning Squad to optimize marketing ROI. Both Managers will lead their teams to collaboratively achieve marketing goals that are aligned with our corporate goals and objectives.

The core parts of your role will be to: 

  • Defines, communicates and leads marketing processes to support the organization’s vision and strategic direction.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives; tasks include gathering pertinent business, competitive, financial, service, and operations information and forecasting requirements for input into the annual budget and schedule expenditures.
  • Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the Marketing department; tasks include developing, maintaining and improving work process flows within the Marketing organization, ensuring clear understanding and adherence by team members throughout the marketing organization.  
  • Ensure best practices are applied for content management and creative services, aligned to driving best possible member/customer engagement results.
  • Fosters high performance and leads team members by communicating strategies and objectives to drive awareness, engagement and support of marketing plans and provides team members with essential resources for performing individual job responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
  • Effectively communicates job expectations and competencies necessary for success and develops action plans to correct or acquire required skills and competencies. Tracks employee progress in relation to expectations and competencies, provides feedback and rewards productive performance.
  • In partnership with Manager, Marketing Planning, manages stakeholder engagement by socializing details of marketing initiatives to business partners in order to ensure alignment and availability of required resources. This includes sharing best practices and rationale for how their Squad’s deliverables optimize business results.
  • Ensures consistency and integrity of the brands operating under the OTIP & Orbit umbrella, across multiple marketing platforms.
  • Maintains marketing services staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.
  • Overall selection and management of external marketing partners as needed.
  • Represents the brokerage within the insurance industry, when required.
  • Performs other duties within competence, as assigned



Qualifications

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:

  • A university degree in Business, Marketing or a related subject.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in consumer marketing including three years’ experience in managing direct reports.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and individual insurance products including property & casualty, leisure and lifestyle, life, retiree health, dental and travel.
  • In-depth knowledge in multi-channel marketing best practices for B2C and B2B2C audiences.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, growing, continuous improvement environment.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities including strong project management skills.
  • A demonstrated high level of data-driven decision making, creativity and effective visual communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of internal and external clientele.
  • The ability to communicate in French is considered a significant asset.
  • Experience leading Creative Services teams is considered a significant asset.
  • Experience with Content Management, Reporting and CRM platforms considered an asset.
  • Experience leading a newly formed team an asset.
