Job Description
The Bodily Injury Examiner is responsible for serving members and resolving casualty claims, while maintaining the highest level of quality. This includes establishing prompt contact with members, coordinating timely investigations, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining file quality requirements, and adhering to corporate service standards, goals and criteria.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Injury, you’ll be responsible for:
- Supports customer service, which includes responding to inquiries and maintaining and improving work quality and volume.
- Establishes proof of loss. This includes studying and analyzing documentation, collecting additional information from various outside parties as required, initiating, or conducting investigation of questionable claims, and negotiating and disposing of casualty claims of minor to moderate complexity in a timely manner.
- Maintains quality service and adheres to organizational standards to deal with all aspects of file handling including reserving, expense and loss control, liability assessments, and setting an agenda for future handling.
- Builds documents in defense of moderate exposure claims. This includes assessing damages, recognizing potential exposures, implementing tasks to contain ultimate value and disposition of moderate exposure claims using superior negotiation skills.
- Represents stakeholders in a professional manner at meetings, court hearings, mediations and other information gatherings with a view to effect settlement when appropriate.
- Provides legal support, assembling documentation for settlement action as requested by senior staff.
- Keeps claims information confidential to protect operations.
- Maintains client database and completes defined functions directly onto the computer system, while ensuring accuracy of input data.
- Adheres to guidelines, contract, and insurance regulations to ensure legal compliance.
- Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information for reporting purposes.
- Performs other duties within competence, as assigned.
Qualifications

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:
- Working towards a CIP designation.
- Working towards an Adjuster’s license.
- A minimum of three years all lines claims adjudication.
- Knowledge of intermediate Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Superior communication skills and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- The demonstrated ability to provide outstanding service in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities, including project management skills.
- The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
