This year, OTIP is helping 58 students take the next step in their educational journeys through the OTIP Bursary Program and our support of Indspire’s Building Brighter Futures program. 

Thirty students from communities across Ontario received $1,500 each through the OTIP Bursary Program, representing $45,000 in financial support. The bursaries support students pursuing college, university, skilled trades and technology programs and help with costs such as tuition, textbooks and everyday living expenses. 

Through our support of Indspire’s Building Brighter Futures program, OTIP also supported 28 Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education in fields including nursing, public health, education, social work, mental health, Indigenous studies and community advocacy. 

For students, financial support can create more room to focus on learning and planning for what comes next. Recipients shared that their bursaries help ease financial pressure while supporting their academic and career goals. 

For many, those goals also include giving back. Students shared aspirations to provide compassionate health care, support learners, advocate for Indigenous women and communities, strengthen community well-being and inspire future generations. 

As one bursary recipient shared: 

“Receiving this bursary means a great deal to me. It will help ease the financial demands of my education and allow me to focus on achieving my academic and professional goals.” 

Another recipient reflected on what having that support behind them means: 

“Your generosity has reminded me that I'm not alone on this journey. Knowing that there are people and organizations who believe in my potential means more than I can express.”
